SHG- Self Help Groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission
Self-Help Groups (SHG) is key in providing self-employment to women –these SHGs are bringing about a sea change in the empowerment of women and promoting economic and social development in the rural areas. Over 32,000 SHGs are functional now - the majority of these groups have been formed over the last three years. The scheme intends to support the beneficiaries through easy access to credit, initial start-up funding, training facilities, market linkage support, and various other interventions.
