However, since 2021, significant improvements have transformed the once treacherous route into a smooth and easily navigable thoroughfare, bringing immense relief to villagers. Not only has this enhancement eased travel woes, but it has also sparked a remarkable boost in tourism, presenting lucrative opportunities for local businesses to thrive.

Meghalaya is one of the eight states selected under the World Bank-funded P.M.G.S.Y. Rural Roads Project.
