Not only has this enhancement eased travel woes, but it has also sparked a remarkable boost in tourism, presenting lucrative opportunities for local businesses to thrive.

For the implementation of road works under the P.M.G.S.Y. program, the government of Meghalaya has created a state Rural Road Development Agency for the construction of 645.24 Km of road under four subsequent phases benefitting 230 eligible habitations. Meghalaya is one of the eight states selected under the World Bank-funded P.M.G.S.Y. Rural Roads Project.
