Osparly Langrin, a 60-year-old daily wage laborer from Diskiang village, faced financial hardships due to poverty, hindering his children's education and healthcare accessibility. However, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) proved to be a beacon of hope for his family. When prolonged stomach and back pain struck, PM-JAY enabled him to seek treatment at Nazareth Hospital in Shillong.

Covering the costs of hospitalization and medical expenses totaling ₹2,99,289, PM-JAY relieved the family's burden during a time of crisis. Despite initial struggles, Osparly and his family received seamless support from the scheme, facilitated by village leaders and ASHA workers.

This experience marked their first encounter with PM-JAY, showcasing its invaluable assistance during times of dire need. Osparly's gratitude towards the government's health insurance initiative underscores the profound impact it has had on his family's well-being, affirming PM-JAY as a vital lifeline for those in need.
