Turning Crisis into Opportunity with Tele-Medicine intervention in Meghalaya

 

With an aim to provide healthcare access to all, the Govt of Meghalaya has launched Tele-Medicine and teleconsultation services on April 29th, 2020. Within a month of the launch, the state has successfully conducted a dental surgery with the guidance of a doctor in the United States through the telemedicine facility at Jengjal in West Garo Hills District. The initiation of Telemedicine and Teleconsultation services is part of the second strategy and is a decentralized leadership model aimed at bringing about a positive change in the health-seeking behavior of people, especially during these trying times
