FOCUS- Farmers’ Collectivization for Upscaling Production and Marketing Systems – Support in Funding, Value Chain development, machinery support, market linkages, transportation, and aggregation of produce are a few of its services. An initial mobilization fund of Rs.5000/- to each member of the producer group is provided. The program aims to enhance the livelihood of Meghalaya’s farmers through interventions across the value chain.

FOCUS - Farmers Collectivization For Upscaling Production and Marketing System

Tengsu Producer Group is a newly formed group under FOCUS comprising of 16 members. The group is primarily in the production of fruits. However, the group faced hardships in arranging funds to procure seeds/saplings, fertilizers and other required materials. This has impacted their production.Sabina Sangma, one of the group member said in an interview that their long awaited problem of getting financial assistance is now solved through FOCUS Initiative. She received a cheque of Rs.80, 000/- from HCM Shri.Conrad K Sangma and is planning to use this mobilisation funding support will support the group in producing more and henceforth will enhance the livelihood of her and her group members. Sabina Sangma expressed her gratitude to Hon'ble CM.Shri Conrad Sangma and Government of Meghalaya for the much needed support the group has received.&nbsp;

Tengsu Producer Group is another successful producer group that received support from the government of Meghalaya under FOCUS scheme. Earlier, the Producer Group was facing a lot of hardship due to financial constraints and applied for the support under FOCUS scheme. Soon, she and her group members received the financial assistance from the government of Meghalaya. Sabina Sangma, one of the members of the group has expressed her happiness and satisfaction on receiving a cheque amounting of Rs.80,000/- from Hon’ble Shri Conrad K Sangma, Sabina Sangma said that this kick start fund is a big support for the group, and it will help the members in producing more and will enhance the livelihood of every member of the group. Sabina Sangma expressed her gratitude to the Govt. of Meghalaya for the much-needed support. Now, the members are actively working together for the growth and benefit of the group.
